An assessor will come to your home to evaluate its systems and structure. During the assessment, the assessor will perform a thorough walk-through of the interior and exterior of your home, including any attic or crawlspaces. Most home walk-throughs take 45-90 minutes.

No. Like a miles-per-gallon rating for cars, the score indicates how well your home uses energy based on its construction and other physical characteristics. Your exact energy bills will vary depending on the number of people living in your home, and how each of those people uses energy day to day.

Customers who receive gas and/or electric from a CCA or IOU are eligible for a $250 rebate. Exceptions include residents of the City of Berkeley due to their Building Emissions Savings Ordinance (BESO). Confirm rebate eligibility and cost with your assessor.

The score evaluates efficiency, not energy generation, but may include electrification readiness recommendations. If your home already has solar installed, the score will estimate how much your generation could offset electricty costs.
